About Security, Cigars & FUD

This blog is about my life and times. It is not a “security blog”, per se. Nor is it a cigar blog or a blog about Elmer Fudd. I happen to be a security professional, though, so you may find that I write about security at times. Although I’ll only be writing about my personal opinions and thoughts on the subject. I will write a lot about the military, politics, culture, cigars, alcohol, travel, my life in general.

FUD, by the way, is not Elmer Fudd. It stands for Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. These are classic techniques used in a wide variety of areas to try and beat the other guy’s position when you believe you can’t do so with logic, reason, and certainty. It’s pretty classic in politics, culture, and security.

I do smoke cigars, drink single malt scotch and wear tuxedos as often as I can. I love Ferrari’s, but I really can’t afford one. I have a lego model of a Ferrari F1, which makes me feel a little better about the whole thing. It cost a lot less than the real F1 (~ $7 million).

If there’s more to say about this blog, I’ll add it when I think of it.
